Questions
Is the battery for GP162 easy to install? Does it come in the case or just the batteries themselves and do we use our existing case? Are these batteries rechargeable. I am considering the 24 volt 22 Ah battery pack.
You would have the option to buy the batteries separately or the battery box assembly with the batteries.
Item X98-9353 is the part number for the battery box assembly with the batteries as an option.
If you would like to purchase batteries by themselves and install them into your case, it is a pretty simple process. Simply unscrew the screws holding the box together (located on the underside of the battery box) then remove the lid. We recommend taking a photo of how the batteries are currently wired into the box, so you can wire the replacements up the exact same way. Then, remove the old batteries, place the new ones inside the box, wire them back up, and reattach the lid with the screws.
If you purchase a new battery box with batteries, the batteries will arrive already wired up inside the box, so all that would be needed would be to charge the box overnight, then put it on the LiteRider.

The pair of batteries arrived promptly and in good condition. A problem arose when I tried to install them in my 2+ year old Golden LiteRider Envy power chair. The terminals on my old pair of batteries are not the same as those on the new batteries. Possibly there was a revision of battery design sometime after my power chair was manufactured. Still don't have solution????
I am sorry to hear that your version had the slide terminals on the batteries instead of the screw terminals now being used. I have requested that a note be added to this page to avoid future confusion. I believe this change took place with Golden in 2015. The solution to this problem is to purchase the updated battery box with the new version of the harnesses. Please let us know if you need assistance completing this transaction.
