Description

If you have been trying to find a good replacement 196cc 6.5 Hp engine for the Coleman BT200X, CT200U Trail, or CT200U-EX mini bike, you may want to take a look at this. Our 196cc 6.5 Hp engine is a good replacement for the engine on the Coleman CT200U Trail or CT200U-EX.

PLEASE NOTE:
As with any aftermarket replacement engine, this little powerhouse was designed to replace the factory-installed engines on a wide range of brands, models, and powersports types. Our 196cc engine may not be a direct bolt-on replacement without a few minor modifications or re-drilling the motor mounts so that everything lines up correctly, but rest assured it can be made to work with a just little DIY elbow grease. Perhaps a little extra work to install, but it sure beats having your Coleman mini bike sitting and rusting away by the side of the house.

In addition, the throttle mechanism on your old engine will need to be saved to be re-used and installed on this high-quality aftermarket replacement engine.

During the production run of the CT200U Trail and CT200U-EX mini bikes, Coleman changed the engine's drive shaft and clutch bore diameter from 3/4" to 5/8". Customers with the 5/8" shaft version will need to retrofit both their engine and clutch assembly with the 3/4" shaft and bore size. We make this easy by offering this replacement 6.5 Hp engine in two versions; if your old engine uses the 3/4" shaft simply select the 3/4" option. If however you need to replace a 5/8" shaft engine you will need to retrofit our conversion engine, clutch, and chain sprocket assembly.

To reiterate, select your shaft diameter size according to the diameter that you are currently replacing. When ordering our 5/8" shaft conversion you will receive our standard 3/4" engine AND a retro-replacement 3/4" bore diameter clutch assembly with the correct 10 tooth 420 chain sprocket.

The 6.5 Hp engine is one of the most widely (if not THE widest) used gasoline engine in the world today. Commonly known as the Honda-clone engine in reference to its initial brand, this design revolutionized the concept of small engines for both motorsports and portable utility equipment. This EPA and certified mini bike and go-kart engine is a single cylinder air cooled engine ideal for lightweight applications, including custom projects. With Monster Scooter Parts' convenient inventory of spare and replacement parts, there is no longer any need for the home mini bike or go-kart builder to scrounge second-hand "junk engines" and go-kart parts as was all too often the case in years past.

This 196cc 6.5 Hp is a replacement for the original 6.5 Hp engine for the Coleman CT200U Trail and CT200U-EX mini bikes and includes the manual pull start, air filter, carburetor, fuel tank, muffler, single magnet flywheel, and spark plug as shown. The 5/8" conversion will also include a clutch and chain sprocket assembly. There is no charging coil, however one may be purchased separately. Please refer to the Specifications tab for more detailed information.

In addition, just click on the links if you want a Three Magnet Flywheel or a new Charging Coil .

Hello, It reads this is a clone for the honda GX200 is the shaft length and bolt circle the same? Are these two interchangeable? Thanks
If you have a Honda Clone, or a GY6 engine, the shaft length and bolt circles should be the same or very similar in length. Generally speaking, parts on clone engines are interchangeable as long as they have the same specifications, or can be modified as such. Feel free to take a look at the specifications for this engine and compare them to the specifications of yours to be sure, however.
    Do they have a battery?
No, this is a gas-powered engine.
Hello; does this engine have the 2 coils and flywheel needed to operate the headlight? Thank you.
This engine does not include the coils & flywheel. The flywheel can be found on the model pages:

What bolt thread size and length will fit the drive shaft's screw hole?
It appears that you'd be able to use an M8 x 1.25 bolt no longer than 1.25" in length.

So you call this a clone for Coleman trail bike... Lies.... The motor fits the frame and the bolt hole line up... That's it.. did you forget to mention that you need to take parts off your carburator off the old motor to put them on the new motor so your throttle actually works at your handlebars. Did you forget to mention the fact that it's a 3/4 Bore Centrifugal clutch, on the clutch off the old motor won't work. Y'all are false advertisement and it really pisses people off.. never again will I use your site your products or refer your business name to anyone. Your disappointment to American people....
We are sorry to hear that you are having a bad experience with this engine. Switching out an engine can be frustrating. Much like replacing an engine in a car, parts will need to be dissembled and reinstalled on the engine. Since this engine is used in many different applications, we recommend comparing engine specifications when ordering a replacement engine. The specifications for this engine lists a 3/4" shaft. This engine would work as a replacement for the specific model numbers that have a 3/4" shaft, but not for any models that have a 1" or any other sized clutch. Please contact our customer service line at 1-800-798-0325. If you could provide us with your particular model of Coleman trail bike, we would be happy to assist in determining what would be needed for your particular model, if those parts are available, or we can issue a refund.
