Questions

Same controller for brushed or brushless?
Can a higher wattage controller be used on a lower wattage motor or vice versa?
Do i need to check how many wire throttle?
Our universal controllers are made with brushed motors in mind, but it does not state if it is only for brushed or brushless motors. The brushed variety is just more common, so it is purchased for that more often.

Controllers can be a higher wattage than the motor, but the motor can never be higher than the controller. The voltage also needs to match across the controller, motor, and batteries. No one component should have a higher voltage rating than the rest.

Sadly, there is not an easy way to test the throttle. For most end-users, the only way to test it is trial and error via replacing the controller or getting the batteries voltage-tested and load-tested.
I have a knock off of an e wheel 3 wheel scooter 48 volt 500 watt. can I trouble shoot controller with meter and do I need to trouble shoot motor also? electrical system works, horn, lights, beeps in reverse mode, etc. but wont move
thank you
We recommend getting the batteries voltage and load tested first for troubleshooting any electric scooter. Often times if a scooter sits for a few months without use or charge, the batteries lose their ability to hold a charge when put under the stress of running the scooter. A load test at a battery supply store will tell you if the batteries are good, or if they need to be replaced. Batteries are the most common replacement part for electric scooters.
