Unlike most stand-up electric scooters with their brake cables and caliper, the Hover-1 Eagle uses an electromagnetic brake system that works directly with the hub motor. The thumb brake for the Hover-1 Eagle electric scooter easily mounts onto an insert that goes into the left end of the scooter's handlebar, and the textured red thumb pad is simply pressed down to affect the braking of the front wheel. The rear wheel is braked with a traditional foot pressure brake that is part of the rear fender.
The thumb brake uses a 3-wire harness and connector.
