Description

Monster Scooter Parts is excited to bring you a real rarity that can potentially save you hundreds of dollars on your power chair repair. Here is the long discontinued 2 key GC joystick remote with the 3-prong connector. Most Jazzy models changed joystick remote connectors during their production runs. The one pictured came from a fully operational Jazzy Select power chair. There are a few very minor scratches on the right side of the black plastic casing, but we tested it and it works just fine.

Certain models of Jazzy Select, Select 6, and Select 6 Ultra power chairs used this 3-Prong version GC joystick remote which connects to the following controller:

40 Amp Controller for the Jazzy Select, Select 6, and Select 6 Ultra Power Chairs

Other Jazzy Select and Select GT models use a GC joystick remote with a 4-prong connector which connects to this controller:

Control Panel Features:
  • On/Off Button - This button turns the GC on and off. Do not use this button to stop the wheelchair, except in an emergency.
  • TruCharge Battery Gauge - This is a 5 segment display which indicates if the GC is switched on and gives the state of charge of the battery. Additionally, any faults in the wheelchair's electrical system are indicated by this display. Refer to the wheelchair's documentation for more details.
  • Speed Dial - This dial adjusts the speed of the wheelchair.
  • Horn Button - This button operates the wheelchair's horn.

  • Joystick remotes with a 3-prong connector will have a serial number of D50901 (CTLDC1461). 4-prong versions will have a serial number of D51157 (CTLDC1574). Please note that the 3-prong version has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is typically no longer available.

    Questions

I have a go chair and when I plug it in to charge the light on the box is both green and red. It does not say charging. But will not power on either. Is the battery bad?
If you are referring to the lights on the charger, the issue could lie either within the charger or the batteries themselves. If the lights are on the joystick remote, that would indicate there could be an issue with the batteries.

You can try using a trickle charger on each individual battery, and then bring the batteries into a store such as Walmart Automotive Center, Batteries Plus, or Autozone and requesting a load test be performed. A Load Test should be a free service, so if they try to charge you, feel free to go elsewhere.

A Load Test result of less than 70% would indicate the battery health is compromised and would be recommended to be replaced. If the Load Test result is higher than 70%, there could be another issue within the unit and it would be recommended to have a technician formally diagnose it.
