The 196cc 6.5 Hp Engine:
The 196cc 6.5 HP Honda clone mini bike engine is one of the most widely -- if not the widest -- used gasoline engine in the world today. Commonly known as the Honda-clone engine in reference to its initial brand, this design revolutionized the concept of small engines for both motorsports and portable utility equipment. This mini bike engine is a direct replacement for the 196cc 6.5 Hp mini bike engine used on the Baja Motorsports Baja Blaster (BB65), Baja Dune (DN65), Mini Bikes MB165 & MB200, & Baja Sand Dog (SD65) and a whole host of generators, pressure sprayers, water pumps, snow blowers, and a thousand other products.

This EPA certified mini bike engine is a single cylinder air cooled engine ideal for lightweight applications, including custom projects. With Monster Scooter Parts' convenient inventory of spare and replacement parts, there is no longer any need for the home mini bike builder to scrounge second-hand "junk engines" and mini bike parts as was all too often the case in years past. This engine includes the manual pull start, air filter, carburetor, fuel tank, muffler, and spark plug as shown. Please refer to the Specifications for more detailed information.

The Torque Converter:
We include a fine torque converter kit for mini bikes that use the ubiquitous Predator 6.5 HP engine. This is the Comet TAV2 Series 30 style kit with a 40/41/420 chain sprocket and a 3/4" bore drive clutch. This bore size will match the size of your horizontal Predator engine drive shaft. This mini bike torque converter comes with a driven pulley with a 5/8" diameter shaft and 10 tooth sprocket. The kit includes a black plastic cover and a 203589, 203589A, 5959, (or equivalent) asymmetric go-kart drive belt. These mini bike torque converters will replace the older Comet 218355A Torq-A-Verter, and they are commonly used on mini bikes, go-karts, and other applications equipped with a 6.5 HP 196cc engines.

The 420 Open Loop Chain:
Our 420 open loop chain may be adapted for use on a wide range of mini bike brands and models. We include five feet of 420 chain along with a master link. A bit stouter than #35 chain, the 420 size chain offers a more robust energy transfer between the clutch sprocket and the drive sprocket as well as being a better chain to absorb the power of a gas-powered mini bike engine. Please note that you will need to shorten the chain yourself if the chain is too long for your application.

The Sprockets:
We offer this great mini bike engine & drive train kit with your choice of sprockets. Unlike the 10 tooth clutch sprocket, these drive sprockets are available in 40 tooth, 48 tooth, 50 tooth, and 60 tooth configurations. When selecting your sprocket option please refer to the Specs to the right side of this page. The primary consideration will be the number of mounting holes and spacing. A mini bike sprocket is an item that is usually quickly and easily replaced. Mini bike sprockets are designed to be used hard on uneven, unpaved surfaces, and chipped broken sprocket teeth, or bent mini bike rear sprocket discs are the normal hazards in the life of a mini bike. If such a minor tragedy occurs on your mini bike, we are still here for you with the right replacement.
