This 47cc ATV, dirt bike, & pocket bike engine with gearbox transmission is also an excellent replacement on a pocket bike, small go-kart or other garage-built recreational motorsports project. It sports a 3 to 1 chain reducer making it very adaptable to many applications. This is a very common engine & transmission combination that is used on a huge number of Chinese-made recreational vehicles.
This 2-stroke 47cc ATV & dirt bike engine is used quite frequently on custom projects and applications. Please ensure this engine will provide the form, fit, and function needed on your custom scooter, go-kart, gas-powered bicycle, or another personal transportation vehicle prior to ordering.
The 2 stroke oil mix gas ratio is 25:1 or 30:1 on this 47cc engine.
Includes a 14 tooth 8 mm chain drive sprocket.

Unfortunately we do not have any separate mounting brackets for this engine. As it can be used on many different frames, you would need to fabricate your own brackets to fit your application.
Is this a gas or electric?
This is a 47cc Gas Engine with Gearbox Transmission for Dirt Bikes, Mini Quad ATVs, & Pocket Bikes. All the information we have is listed under the Description on the part page.
What type of clutch? How many gears?
This engine has a centrifugal clutch with 3:1 gearing.
Can you add an electric starter?
It appears it may be possible to install an electric start, though we have not tried that ourselves.
Would a reverse gear box shifter work on this setup?
While it may be possible to use a reverse gearbox with this engine, modifications may be necessary so we would recommend performing further independent research.
How much weight can this setup handle, including the unit itself?
Generally speaking pocket bikes, mini quads and dirt bikes that use this type of motor have a weight limit of 165 lbs. This motor with gear box weighs about 7.55 lbs.
What is the horsepower?
It's somewhere between 1.5 HP and 3 HP. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not provided us with the exact HP, but generally speaking, 1HP is equal to 14-17cc.
What chain size does this use? What chain sizes are compatible?
The chain size to be used with this transmission is 8MM 05T.
