Description

The 1P47FMD 50cc 4-stroke automatic Honda-clone gas ATV and dirt bike engine may be used in a wide variety of applications, including all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), dirt bikes, pit bikes, go karts, and dune buggies.

The 50cc ATV & dirt bike engine comes equipped with a #420 chain sprocket and electric starter motor. The chain cover, carburetor joint (intake manifold extension), gaskets, O-ring, and carburetor mounting hardware is included. The starter motor is our part number G07-1492 and can be found at the link below:

12 Volt Electric Starter Motor for 50cc ATV & Dirt Bike Engines

PLEASE NOTE:
The engine exhaust port has a machined cut-out side to receive a collared exhaust pipe. This is by design and not a product defect. The collared pipe fits down into the exhaust port with the diamond-shaped rhombus flange fitting over the studs.

An elbow-shaped carburetor joint (or intake manifold extension) is included with this engine. Depending on your vehicle type, this cast & machined "pipe" holds the carburetor at the proper angle and away from the engine head. Although the exhaust port with the two pre-installed mounting studs uses the same hole-spacing as the intake, this intake manifold extension does not work for the exhaust due to the cut-out on the exhaust port.

In addition, there are many different versions of 50cc 4-stroke engines used in the Chinese scooter, all-terrain vehicle, dirt bike, and go-kart market. Please be sure to check the detailed specifications and dimensions on our specifications list prior to ordering.

Questions

Is there any way I can get a 50cc automatic, with a kick start instead of electric start, and which wiring harness would I need to make it all work?
Unfortunately, this engine is only available with an electric start. However, we do carry some engines without an electric start. All the engines we carry without an electric start can be found here: https://www.monsterscooterparts.com/trsc/rec-categories/entr?filter_engine_start=748
Do you have this engine with bottom mount starter?
Unfortunately, we do not carry a version of this engine with a bottom-mounted electric starter. The closest thing we have would be item E05-500 which has the side-mounted electric starter as well as a shift lever, but that engine lacks a Reverse gear.
What is the estimated max speed for a 50 CC engine on a dirt bike?
Unfortunately, we would be unable to advise on the top speed of this engine as the speed would depend on a variety of factors including rider weight, wheel size, and terrain, to name a few.
What kind of oil do they take and what kind of oil goes in the gears box?
We recommend 80W-85 transmission or gear oil for the oil that goes in the gearbox. As for the engine oil, you'll be able to use standard motor oil. If this is a direct replacement, the owner's manual to your ATV/Dirtbike/Scooter should provide guidance on what oil weight to use.
How many speed transmission is this?
It's a continuously variable transmission (CVT), also known as a shiftless transmission, single-speed transmission, stepless transmission, pulley transmission, or, in case of motorcycles, a 'twist-and-go'. It is an automatic transmission that can change seamlessly through a continuous range of effective gear ratios.
