The Vespa GS 150 (VS1 - 5) and 160 (VSB) were the Vespa scooters of the late '50s and '60s. GL for Gran Sport, this is probably the scooter you think of when thinking "classic motor scooter". The very acme of elegant style, the Gran Sport was the first Vespa design to sport the streamlined handlebars with enclosed wiring that has been a feature of every Vespa model since.
Although these two Vespa models probably did more to popularize the Italian scooter industry than any machines before or since, these once common Gran Sport in good condition has become a very rare item. Additionally, there are few parts that interchange between the two models. In their day, these high-performance motor scooters were also the first Vespas to use the now common 3.5-10 tire size.
