Description

Even a motorized bike needs some way to crank the engine over. Our recoil pull start for 48cc - 80cc 2-stroke bicycle engine kits is the preferred way to get your bike's powerhouse putting along.

Unlike most plastic or cheaply stamped pull starts, this pull start uses a strong cast metal housing and pawl.

Questions

Can I still use clutch to start it too??
The recoil pull start is used to start 2-stroke gas bicycle engines, so this is a perfect replacement to get your bike started!
So do you use this to start your 80cc bike motor instead of pedaling and popping clutch?
Yes, you should be able to use this pull start to start your engine instead of pedaling and popping the clutch.
What do you do to install this part?
First, you would want to make sure your engine is compatible with a pull-start. Then, measure the distance between the mounting holes on your engine. This pull start has about a 56mm distance between the mounting holes, so if your engine has the same distance between mounting holes, all you would need to do would be attach the pull start and screw or bolt it in place. The pull start does not include mounting screws or bolts, but those should be a standard size and available at a local hardware store.
My rope broke on it . Hard is it to put one on it ?
It may be tricky to replace the string as there are springs inside the pull start and the proper tension must be reached. We'd recommend replacing the pull start outright for the simplest and easiest fix.
My motor is an electric start now can I use this and convert it into a pull start?

Does the pull start center bolt on to the magneto?
This pull start connects to the pawl which then connects to the starter/flywheel/crank
